  1. Select an Investment

You should first select an investment from the multiple options specified for the golden visa in Portugal.  It can either be investment funds, real estate, or donations.   1. Collect and Prepare Documents

After choosing the investment, the next step is to collect documents for the application process. You have to fill all of them with the required information.   1. Book a Biometric and Interview Session

If your application is approved, you will have to book an appointment for an interview. You have to be present in person for it and your biometric data will also be collected at this time. This includes receiving your signature, taking your photo, and fingerprint scanning.

It is better to book for an interview in smaller cities for a fast process because larger cities are always booked for many months. The invitation for interviews can take up to three months. Also, it can be a few weeks depending on the number applicants. 

  1. Get Approval

When your application for a golden visa in Portugal is approved, you will have to pay 5,325 Euros for each person. Finalizing the process happens after making the above mentioned payment.  You can then receive a residence permit. But it is valid for only two years and you will have to renew it afterwards.
